Howard Fast

Howard Melvin Fast (November 11, 1914 – March 12, 2003) was an American novelist and television writer. Fast also wrote under the pen names E.V. Cunningham and Walter Ericson

Fast joined the Communist Party USA in 1943. During the 1950s Fast worked for the Communist newspaper, the Daily Worker, but later that decade he broke with the CPUSA after Nikita Khrushchev's report at the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in February 1956, and the Soviet military intervention to suppress the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 in November.
