I have known Comrade Hanecki since 1903, when he was a representative of the Polish Social-Democrats at our Party Congress. I later knew him all the time as a member of the Polish C.C. I had an opportunity of watching him work at close range in 1912–1914, when we lived together in Cracow. From there Comrade Hanecki repeatedly travelled for underground work in Poland, carrying out C.C. assignments both abroad and in Russia. I fully recommend him for the Party.

Member of the R.C.P. C.C. V. Ulyanov (Lenin) 21.XI.1921.

Notes

[1] The reference was written in connection with a purge of the R.C.P.(B.) in 1921.

It was written on the autobiography of J. S. Hanecki, and also contained a reference from F. E. Dzerzhinsky.
