Chemical and Biological Weapons

Chemical Weapons: Primarily consisting of Sarin GB Nerve gas (Developed by the Nazis, 500 times as toxic as cynade, 100 milligrams or Sarin, or about a drop, will kill an adult human in minutes), VX Nerve gas (British made, the most deadly chemical weapon on Earth, a fraction of a drop kills instantly), and Mustard gas (a blister agent), as well as Binary Weapons. Recorded in tons of chemical agents as of 12/15/95, these are only the storage sites that are officially admitted. Around 60% of the US stockpile is in bulk storage containers; while 40% is stored in munitions, many of which are obsolete. In 1985, Congress passed Public Law 99-145 ordering the military to destroy all chemical agents in obsolete munitions. The US stockpile of chemical and biological weapons could wipe out all human life on Earth.

Tooele, UT: 13,616 tons. "The stockpile stored at Deseret Chemical Depot consists of spray tanks, cartridges, projectiles, rockets, bombs, large bulk containers, and mines containing the nerve agents GA, GB, and VX. The blister agents mustard and lewisite are stored in the stockpile as well."
Pine Bluff, AR: 3,849.71 tons. "The stockpile consists of rockets containing the liquid nerve agents GB and VX and one-ton bulk storage containers with mustard."
Umatilla, OR: 3,717.38 tons. "UmatillaŐs stockpile consists of projectiles, rockets, land mines, spray tanks and bombs containing the nerve agents GB and VX. Ton containers stored at the depot are filled with the blister agent HD, more commonly referred to as mustard agent."
Pueblo, CO: 2,611.05 tons. "The depot has 780,078 weapons with about 2,611 tons of mustard, a blister agent. The depotŐs stockpile includes 105 and 155mm projectiles, and 4.2-inch mortar rounds."
Anniston, AL: 2,253.63 tons. "Anniston's stockpile consists of cartridges, projectiles, ton containers, rockets and mines containing the nerve agents GB and VX, and the blister agent HB, more commonly referred to as or mustard agent."
Edgewood, MD: 1,624.87 tons. "The Edgewood stockpile consists of 1,623 tons of mustard agent, also known as HD, stored in 1,817 ton containers."
Newport, IN: 1,269.33 tons. "The depot stockpile consists of 1,269 tons of nerve agent VX which is stored in 1,690 carbon steel containers."
Johnston Atoll: 1,134.17 tons.
Blue Grass, KY: 523.41 tons. "The stockpile consists of projectiles and rockets containing nerve agents GB (Sarin) and VX, and mustard or blister agent."

Usage of Biological Weapons:

The US government dispersed the biological agents Aspergillus fumigatus, B. subtilis var. globigii, and Serratia marcescens in New York City, San Francisco, and other US cities. An unknown number of US citizens were unknowingly exposed to these chemicals for the sake of government testing of aerosolization and dispersal methods. Shortly after the spraying of S. marcescens in San Francisco, an outbreak of osocomial S. marcescens (formerly Chromobacterium prodigiosum) urinary tract infections occured at Stanford University Hospital between September 1950 and February 1951.

US Biological Laboratories conducted numerous other biological warfare tests on the US civilian population from 1943 to the mid 1960s, and undoubtably more that are still "classified". Incidents the government presently admits to are those that used harmless bacteria on the population to test dispersal and delivery methods to achieve the maximum rate of contaimination.

After a treaty sponsored by the Warsaw Pact and Great Britian, the US ratified the treaty in 1972, and all quantity supplies of biological weapons were destroyed by February, 1973. Since biological weapons are relatively easy to develop (as opposed to nuclear and chemical weapons), banning biological weapons is a logical political move of the advanced nations to retain military dominance over small nations.
