The delegates to the First Congress of the Workers Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist) unanimously adopted a resolution on the unity of the international Marxist-Leninist movement.

The resolution begins by sending greetings from the WCP(ML) to all fraternal parties and organizations around the world.

It stresses that the new Party intends to defend the spirit of proletarian internationalism and fight “for the unity of the international communist movement. To this end we will maintain and develop the links established by the Canadian Communist League (Marxist-Leninist) during its short existence.”

The resolution notes that “The WCP(ML) intends to maintain and defend Marxism-Leninism and Mao Zedong Thought and wage a relentless struggle against modern revisionism and all counter-revolutionary distortion of Marxism-Leninism.”

The resolution states that the Party will defend comrade Mao Zedong’s three worlds theory, which is a guide for the proletarian struggle on the world level.

Also, it resolutely denounces the splittist and revisionist trend pushed by the Albanian Party of Labour and notes its miserable failure, since the overwhelming majority of Marxist-Leninist parties have continued to follow the revolutionary line.

The resolution sends greetings from the WCP to the Communist Party of China, Hua Guofeng and the people of the People’s Republic of China, wishing them complete success in transforming China into a powerful, modern socialist country.

It also salutes the Communist Party of Kampuchea, which is waging a heroic fight against the Vietnamese invaders and their Soviet social-imperialist backers.

Finally, the resolution slates, “In the recent period, the international communist movement has developed and strengthened in the fight against revisionism and anti-Marxist attacks. Our strong unity will become even greater in this struggle. Our Party is proud to consider itself a detachment of this movement, which represents the future liberation of humanity and the glorious cause of socialism and communism.”
