John Sullivan

(1932–2003)

John Sullivan was an long-standing left-wing activist in Britain who in the course of his life was a member of a number of different political groups. He was an expert on Spanish politics and wrote and translated many works on Spanish politics and history and related subjects. Under various pseudonyms he also wrote a number of satirical critiques of the British left, which concentrated particularly on the Trotskyist movement. The best known of these is called As Soon As This Pub Closes after a satirical drinking song about the British left. The Encyclopaedia of Trotskyism On-Line (ETOL) is pleased to be able to present a number of these latter works.
