International Socialism, April/Maly 1969

Editor

Letter to Readers

From International Socialism (1st series), No.36, April/May 1969, p.21.
Transcribed & marked up by Einde O’Callaghan for ETOL.

This is our first attempt to produce IS bimonthly. This should enable us both to publish more material and to link what we publish to the current concerns of revolutionary activists. We hope that the enlarged Survey section in particular will play a role here. But this is only possible with the assistance of readers. More frequent publication means more frequent payment of bills and we can only meet these if we receive payment for copies more quickly than in the past.

Going bimonthly not only strains our financial resources, it also puts an increased burden on our print shop, already working at capacity to produce a weekly Socialist Worker and numerous other papers, leaflets and posters. In order to cope with these demands we will have to find the money for further expansion. So if you have any spare cash send it to Socialist Review Publishing Company, Paxton Works, Paxton Road, London, N.17, as soon as possible.

Finally we are preparing a collection of the best articles that have appeared in IS, often from unobtainable back issues, in book form. They will be published in three volumes. You can make sure of getting these, and help us, by ordering and paying for the first two volumes now, at the special pre-publication price of 10s a volume. Send orders to Sandra Peers, 21 First Turn, Oxford.
