Note to Readers

From International Socialism (1st series), No.94, January 1977, p.2.
Transcribed & marked up by Einde O’Callaghan for ETOL.

As from this issue, a new editorial team takes over the running of this Journal. The outgoing Editor, Duncan Hallas, will, however, continue to be a regular contributor. Over the next few issues we hope to introduce a number of changes in the style and content of the Journal. Any comments from our readers about what they think of these changes, and suggestions for the improvement of the Journal, are welcome.

Our apologies to the following contributors to International Socialism 93, whose names were unfortunately omitted from the articles they wrote: John Deason, who wrote One Year of the Right to Work Campaign; Wayne Asher, who wrote Fascism in Leicester; and Chris Harman, who wrote Poland: Crisis of State Capitalism. The second part of Chris Herman’s article on Poland appears in this issue, along with an article by Edmond Baluka and Ewa Barker on the last major wave of Polish workers’ struggles in December 1970. Edmond Baluka was one of the leaders of the Szczecin shipyard workers in 1970 and now lives In exile in Britain
