Red International of Labor Unions

Problems of Strike Strategy

Decisions of the International Conference on Strike Strategy

Held in Strassburg, Germany, January, 1929

Conclusions

In conclusion, we wish to draw to the attention of all the adherents of the Profintern that the resolutions adopted at the IX plenum of the Executive Committee of the Communist International, the IV Congress of the Red International of Trade Unions and the VI Congress of the Communist International regarding the problems of working within the trade unions are still in force. Inasmuch as the economic struggle has become the center of attention for all Communist parties, revolutionary trade unions and revolutionary opposition, the Comintern and the Profintern will most carefully follow all economic conflicts. They will react timely to all the developments in these conflicts in each country, and render all the aid within their power during the preparatory period, as well as, and especially at the outbreak of a strike. Only with such combined efforts of the Comintern, the Profintern, and their affiliated organizations, is it possible, with the maximum benefit to the international working class movement, to utilize the past economic conflicts and take the leadership of the masses out of the hands of international reformism.
