Order of the Day, addressed to Marshal Meretskov and Admiral Golovko, announces that troops of the Karelian Front, in co-ordination with formations and ships of the Northern Fleet, on the offensive in difficult Arctic conditions, on November 1,accomplished the complete liberation of the Pechenga (Petsamo) Region from the German invaders.

The Order mentions 91 commanders of troops, ships, artillerymen, tankmen, airmen, sappers and signallers whose units and formations have distinguished themselves.

A salute of 20 salvoes was fired from 224 Moscow guns.
