Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist)

On Unity of Marxist-Leninists

Canadian Youth Will Never Accept Revisionism

The following is a letter from the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist) to two anti-revisionist youths which was sent on January 14, 1973.

Dear Comrades:

We have received your letter with great enthusiasm, (see letter at end of article) Your exposure and denunciation of the Revisionist Party of Canada is a timely and just one. It reflects the basic sentiment of the Canadian Youth Against Revisionism. We warmly hail your anti-revisionist spirit and commend you for daring to speak out against the Revisionist Party of Canada.

Modern revisionism has for a long time tried to divert revolutionary people, especially the youth, from the revolutionary path in Canada. They vilified and slandered all young people who stood up against the revisionist diversionary tactics and they used the method of malignment in order to discredit them amongst the revolutionary people. The modern revisionists are past masters in concocting these lies. Once they fail in splitting and dividing revolutionary people through lies, they launch wild accusations that revolutionaries are “CIA agents”. This is the way they tried to deal with the Internationalists, a militant organisation of Canadian youth which they attempted to liquidate.

But the modern revisionists of Canada are fools of a particular kind – they lift stones only to drop them on their own feet. Every time they launched their slander and lie campaign against us, our organisation launched an ideological and political campaign against them. Every lie and slander of theirs we answered by escalating our principled propaganda and broadening and deepening our revolutionary activity.

No sooner had the Internationalists organised and later reorganised in May 1968, than the revisionist dogs began their foul campaign that the Internationalists were a “CIA front”. Accomplices in this crime against the revolutionary youth were the social democrats of the NDP type (the old type revisionists – leftovers from the counter-revolutionary Second International to which NDP’ers still belong) and the old and new type of trotskyists (League for “Socialist” Action and the U.S. imperialist agency “Canadian” Party of “Labour”). Together this holy alliance with the added support of the so-called New Left began their anti-Marxist-Leninist propaganda, mystified all revolutionary principles, refused to clarify basic ideological differences and, by using reactionary sectarianism and dogmatism, attempted to stem the rise of the communist movement. But all their flimsy efforts were frustrated by the revolutionary people. The Internationalists spread nation-wide within a short period of one year of the reorganisation in May, 1968.

Once the holy alliance was unable to stop the growth and development of the Internationalists and the spread of Marxist-Leninist influence amongst the revolutionary youth, the police force was brought forth to accomplish that task. From May 1968, to December 1972, close to fifteen hundred arrests of our comrades took place resulting in long term jailings (Comrade Martin Bracy – five years and four months; Comrade Bill Shpikula – over two years; Comrade Robert A. Cruise – over one year and innumerable comrades between 15 days and nine months) as well as physical harm, smashing up of the revolutionary bookstores, etc. But the vile activities of direct attacks by the reactionary police and the indirect attacks by the RCMP of spreading gossips and slanders, issuing threats, depriving communists of citizenship and landed immigrant status and over twenty deportations did not stop the Canadian youth from taking up Marxism-Leninism-Mao Tsetung Thought and persisting in the revolutionary path.

The efforts of the holy alliance of the “left” and the reactionary police, courts and judges failed to liquidate the revolutionary organisation of the Internationalists and the glorious Marxist-Leninist Party, the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist) was born in March, 1970. Since then, the holy alliance and the reactionary police have been trying to liquidate the Party from within and without culminating in the rise of the police collaborationist clique led by the “Left”-sloganeering front of Khrushchovite revisionism during 1971-1972. This front surpassed all of the others in concoction of gossip and slander and set up a new standard of degeneration and service to the imperialists and the social-imperialists. Far from having the desired effect of liquidating our Party, the reputation and prestige of our Party soared to new heights. A trend began in the revolutionary circles all over again to take up the glorious task of building the Party and to sympathise and support CPC(M-L). This trend has been developing and broadening since fall 1972 and revolutionary youth organisations such as the Partisan Organisation (Vancouver), New Morning Collective (Halifax), Guelph News Service (Guelph) and various individuals have come forward to sympathise with and support CPC(M-L). This has resulted in the utter collapse of the “Left”-sloganeering front of Khrushchovite revisionism which was designed to dismember the Party from within.

When our Party entered the federal elections as the representative of the working class and presented a Marxist-Leninist programme and exposed the Revisionist Party as an agency of Soviet social-imperialism and an anti-working class organisation, they started, all over again, the slander and gossip against CPC(M-L) but on a more sinister plane. The Revisionist Party, the “Left”-sloganeering front of Khrushchovite Revisionism, the so-called Labour Leader (in Vancouver) and other excreta of the revolutionary movement, advanced their slander campaign to a new level. The RCMP is also panic-stricken. Apart from issuing sensational news through the bourgeois press (October 19 and 20, 1972), they have been sounding out people connected in one way or another with us in the past to become police informers. Last week they were snooping around and questioning shopkeepers trying to extract information.

All this activity reflects the designs which are being hatched by the reactionary forces – they holy alliance of the “Left” – reactionary police – fascists and other state apparatus to launch further attacks on the Party and to suppress it. But these attacks are also bound to failure. Neither the Canadian Youth are going to espouse the revisionism of the NDP, the modern revisionism of the Revisionist Party, all the recent variations of revisionism dished out by the “Left”-sloganeering front of Khrushchovite revisionism, nor are Canadian Youth going to be cowed down by the reactionary attacks of the state.

When you comrades write to us and express your “warm support for CPC(M-L) and its political line” and“denounce the CPC (Revisionist) and its political line” you are making a contribution to the struggle of the working people and supporting the struggle of Canadian Marxist-Leninists against the alliance of the revisionists, trotskyists and police. You are showing to the revolutionary people of Canada that the prestige and reputation of CPC(M-L) is increasing with every passing day and revisionism is getting discredited with every passing day.

Comrades: The Communist.Party, of Canada (Marxist-Leninist) warmly welcomes you to be a part of the trend of developing unity amongst Canadian Marxist-Leninists. We take this opportunity to point out to you that as long as you uphold principle, oppose revisionism and opportunism, go against the lies and slander campaigns against CPC(M-L) and persist in building close ties with the working people you will certainly make great contributions to the cause of the proletariat against U.S. imperialism and Soviet social-imperialism and against the monopoly capitalist class itself.

LONG LIVE THE DEVELOPING UNITY AMONGST THE CANADIAN MARXIST-LENINISTS!

LONG LIVE THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF CANADA (MARXIST-LENINIST)!
