Boston (NANS DAILY) June 26 – The following is the full text of a statement by the Red Banner (Marxist-Leninist), Oakland, California, dated June 6, 1973 and entitled “Red Banner (ML) Joins the Preparatory Committee and Hails the Conference of North American Marxist-Leninists, August 18 to September 2, 1973.”

Red Banner (ML) hails the Conference of North American Marxist-Leninists, August 18 to September 2, 1973 and is proud to join the ranks of the Preparatory Committee for the Conference in becoming a sponsor organization.

HAIL THE CONFERENCE OF NORTH AMERICAN MARXIST-LENINISTS, AUGUST 18 to SEPTEMBER 2, 1973!

Comrades! We resolutely support and uphold the Call for a Conference. We repudiate and oppose all rumormongerers and slanders of the Conference of North American Marxist-Leninists, August 18 to September 2, 1973 and its Preparatory and Standing Committee. We state before everyone:

Certain individuals have shamelessly and fraudulently tried to pass themselves off to us as representatives of the Preparatory and Standing Committees of the Conference of North American Marxist-Leninists, with a supposed conference sometime in May of 1973. We say that these same individuals have shamelessly misrepresented the Preparatory Committee line of UNITE FOR THE SAKE OF STRUGGLING FOR THE CORRECT LINE FOR THE WORKING CLASS and have used the Call in an attempt to expand their own ranks. Red Banner (ML) repudiates and opposes the efforts of a few, who with all manner of flim-flammery attempt to give themselves the appearance of serious and knowledgeable Marxist-Leninists, while in fact their only interest is to serve themselves and spread all other manner of anti-proletarian outlooks and practices.

We stand firm and resolute with the Preparatory Committee for the Conference of North American Marxist-Leninists, August 18 to September 2, 1973, and support all decisions of its June 9 meeting in Tampa, Florida.

Oppose all rumormongersrs and slanderers by disseminating the call and building the conference!

Revolution is the main trend in the world today. In the period of its decline the bourgeoisie launches vicious assaults on the people in an attempt to halt the flow of history with their fascist and imperialist schemes. But no handful of schemers can halt the forward march of the broad masses. It is the masses that make history! Over the entire surface of the Earth revolutionary struggles have spread like a prairie fire, and in the hearts and minds of all oppressed peoples the spirit of revolution and of the fight against fascism and imperialism is burning.

The U.S. monopoly capitalist class, center of the world wide reaction and imperialist aggression, is increasing its fascist attack upon the peoples of the U.S.A. Wrecking havoc wherever it turns to “reform” its system, U.S. imperialist fascists expose their aims to undermine the last vestiges of workers rights in the U.S.A. This fascist drive must be exposed, stopped and smashed. In order to decimate the handful of class enemies of the people, in order to unite the people in opposition to the monopoly capitalist class, in order to obliterate all anti-proletarian revisionism it is necessary that a revolutionary Marxist-Leninist Party of the Proletariat arise in the midst of the revolutionary movement, that it have its base in the masses and the advanced proletariat as its main force.

Such a Party is born in the daily struggles waged against all forms of oppression and incorrect line. These struggles are the testing and tempering ground for the revolutionary core of the new Communist Party(Marxist-Leninist). It is time for all Marxist-Leninists to come together in order to openly air their views and sum up their experiences.

GO AMONGST THE MASSES IN ORDER TO LEARN FROM THE PEOPLE, IN ORDER TO DEVELOP THE MASS BASED REVOLUTIONARY PARTY OF THE PROLETARIAT AND ITS ALLIES AND THE ORGANS OF WORKING CLASS PROPAGANDA!

Building the revolutionary Party of the Proletariat and its allies is our first task in this country. In order to fulfill this task we say take Marxism-Leninism Mao Tsetung Thought to the people, wage anti-fascist and anti-imperialist struggles in order to test all lines and sum up experiences in order to develop the correct line and methods and styles of work, and build the nationwide revolutionary Party.

Only the living study and application of Marxism-Leninism Mao Tsetung Thought can be the first step in building the revolutionary Party. Anything else is revisionism and is an attack upon the people.

DISSEMINATE FAR AND WIDE THE LIVING STUDY AND APPLICATION OF MAO TSETUNG THOUGHT!

The Conference of North American Marxist-Leninists, August 18 to September 2, 1973, is a great and historic occasion for all oppressed peoples. We urge all Marxist-Leninists in North America to support and participate in the Conference, to openly air their views and sum up their experiences in order to hammer out the correct line upon which can be built the practical unity of all North American Marxist-Leninists. We urge all individuals and organizations to unite on the basis of the practical task of building a Marxist-Leninist Communist Party of the U.S.A., on the basis of the practical task of uniting the proletariat and its allies against fascism and U.S. monopoly capitalist class, and on the basis of the practical task of serving and guiding the revolutionary mass movements of the peoples of the U.S.A.

Red Banner (ML) urges all Marxist-Leninists of North America to attend the Conference in the spirit of educating themselves to the objective national, regional and worldwide conditions; to the experience and lines of all attending organizations and individuals and on that basis to struggle for the correct line for the working class upon which all Marxist-Leninists of North America can unite. Correct line is the concrete expression of the tasks at hand, and it is on the basis of working together to fulfill these tasks that we must organize and unite!

HAIL THE CONFERENCE OF NORTH AMERICAN MARXIST-LENINISTS!
