UNITY has a new look for 1984. In order to present the most timely news and analysis from a Marxist-Leninist perspective, we have redesigned UNITY to have a more up-to-date and readable appearance.

You will notice a new way of highlighting our major features. There are more, shorter news articles and round-up columns designed to broaden the scope of our coverage. We have expanded our cultural pages to include not only timely reviews, but more original pieces and art work. We are printing a total of 28 pages this issue, but the number of pages will vary.

The opinion-editorial pages will regularly strive to sharply apply the perspective and analysis of Marxism-Leninism-Mao Zedong Thought to international and domestic issues. UNITY will also include more opinion articles in order to have greater debate and discussion of important issues facing the movement.

In 1984, UNITY correspondents will continue traveling to important areas of the world to bring you firsthand analysis unavailable from any other source. We have sent reporters to El Salvador, Grenada, Peru, China, Europe and many other parts of the world. Our reporters in the U.S. will be writing about important developments in the working class, oppressed nationality, student and other people’s movements. UNITY seeks not only to inform, but help provide leadership to the working class movement against capitalism.

We hope you will join with us in making UNITY a truly working class newspaper. Send us articles, opinions, letters, cartoons, original poetry and short stories. Help us distribute UNITY in your city. In particular, we would appreciate your comments about the new look and content of UNITY.
