This Report reveals that a grave error was made by the Central Committee of the M.L.O.B. in having, without having made a full Marxist-Leninist analysis of the situation in the People’s Republic of China, mistakenly given its support to the Mao Tse-tung faction, which this Report shows to be a disguised counter-revolutionary headquarters. A full self-criticism analysing the reason why this error was made and drawing the necessary lessons from it, together with an assessment of the significance that the present situation in the People’s Republic of China has on the world situation and on the developing world Marxist-Leninist movement, will be published in the near future.
The temporary loss of Peking and a part of China to counter-revolution is a set-back to the working class of the world, just as was the temporary loss of the Soviet Union.
But this counter-revolutionary violence accompanied by unparalleled demagogy and intrigue cannot prevent for long the revolutionary working people of China, led by its working class and under the leadership of organised Marxist-Leninists, from carrying through the socialist revolution and making China into a strong bastion of socialism.
And all this counter-revolutionary violence, intrigue and disruption cannot prevent for long the building of a new Communist International based on Marxism-Leninism.
In spite of this unprecedented betrayal by Mao Tse-tung and his counterrevolutionary faction, we in Britain are going forward to lay the foundations of a Marxist-Leninist Party which will play its role in the building of the new Communist International.
