Al Richardson, the editor of Revolutionary History, tragically died on 22 November 2003.
I am sure all readers would wish to express condolences to his family, friends and comrades, and to remember the enormous contribution he made to this journal, to the documentation of the history of the Trotskyist and broader socialist and communist movement, and to the cause of socialism in general.
