The reader will find comment for and against the McCarran-Walter Act as well as observations on the immigration problem in the early days of the Republic. Articles are reprinted from newspapers and periodicals as different as the New York Journal-American and the Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science. Best of all is the format: the thin pocket-sized volume will take up little space on your shelf.
