Order of the Day, addressed to Marshal Govarov, announces that troops of the Leningrad Front, having gone over to the offensive in the Narva area, broke through the strongly fortified, deeply echeloned enemy defence zone and, as a result of skilful outflanking manoeuvre and frontal attack on July 26, carried by storm the town and fortress of Narva - an important fortified zone of the German defences covering the road to Esthonia.

The Order mentions 36 commanders of troops artillerymen, tankmen, airmen, sappers and signallers whose units and formations have distinguished themselves.

A salute of 20 salvoes was fired fro 224 Moscow guns.
