Toronto, December 4, (PCDN) – PCDN is extremely delighted to receive the news that Comrade Jack Scott, a veteran communist and founder of the first anti-revisionist centre in Canada, the PROGRESSIVE WORKERS MOVEMENT, a trade-unionist who pioneered the cause of the proletarian revolution for over four decades, has warmly signed the NATIONAL PETITION FOR PEOPLE’S CANADA. We reproduce in full below the message sent by Comrade Jack to the Provisional Committee of the Canadian People’s United Front Against U.S. Imperialism after signing the petition:

“I have signed the “National Petition for a People’s Canada” because I believe it correctly outlines the chief characteristics of the present political and economic situation wherein a reactionary imperialist United States dominates Canada (in cooperation with their Canadian capitalist partners), for the purpose of exploiting the Canadian people and Canadian resources and as a base for the expansion of imperialist exploitation and for aggression against other peoples.

“The petition also produces what appears to be a logical and reasonably good programme for action to resist U.S. imperialist expansion and aggression. How logical and how good it is any weaknesses or needed amendments – will soon become apparent in its application. I support it as a program for anti-imperialist action.” – Jack Scott.
