Within the short space of five days, first the fascist Bains clique, the “CPCML”, and then the revisionist group In Struggle launched more open attacks on Mao Tsetung Thought and socialist China than ever before.

“CPCML” denounces Mao Tsetung Thought

On June 5, the “CPCML” published its new “constitution”, the result of its so-called “special congress”. This document claims that China is being led by “rightists” and has reverted to capitalism. It informs us that now that Chairman Mao is dead, the “CPCML” will not only stop going through the motions of supporting Mao Tsetung Thought but will feverishly attack those who defend and apply it.

Since its creation this gang of counter-revolutionaries has been dead set on sabotaging the struggle for socialism in our country and turning Canadian workers against socialist China, all the while claiming to be its firmest defender. The “CPCML” claimed to support China only so it could smear this great socialist country. In fact the “CPCML” has always supported the greatest revisionists like Lin Plao and the “gang of four”, fought by the Communist Party of China.

The “CPCML” has been largely exposed by the vigorous development of the authentic communist movement in our country and by the struggle the League and many progressive and anti-imperialist organizations have waged against it.

It has been forced to show itself, abandon all reference to Mao Tsetung Thought and put on a new mask. The “CPCML” is now continuing its dirty work by openly venting its spleen on China and Mao Tsetung Thought.

...In Struggle follows five days later

In its turn, the degenerated group In Struggle is also throwing Mao Tsetung Thought into the trash can. At its “conference on the program” held June 10 and 11, the leader of this revisionist gang, Charles Gagnon, said that In Struggle referred only to Marxism-Leninism because as far as he’s concerned Mao Tsetung’s contributions don’t justify talking about Mao Tsetung Thought.

In Struggle used to claim it was a “firm defender” of the theory of three worlds, only to attack it frenziedly. Then it claimed to support China only to slander it in a more and more open way. At the same conference Gagnon declared that certain Chinese leaders were the enemies of the dictatorship of the proletariat and added that In Struggle was about to “take an official stand” on China. Following in the steps of the “CPCML” In Struggle is getting ready to attack socialist China head on. But whether its attacks are “official” or not they are evident as is its support for the line promoted by the “gang of four”.

An international splittist current

All these saboteurs of the “CPCML” and In Struggle sort are rapidly being exposed. They are part of a world splittist current and their counter-revolutionary positions are being uncovered at the same time as those of other groups like the “KPD(ML)” in Germany which didn’t hesitate to call Chairman Mao a “revisionist” in a recently released internal document.

This splittist trend first tried to attack the present leadership of the Communist Party of China by opposing it to Chairman Mao. It claimed that the theory of three worlds, which it violently slandered, had not been developed by Chairman Mao and that the Communist Party of China had re-established capitalism in China. But the firm struggle waged by the Communist Party of China, led by Chairman Hua Kuo-feng, completely exposed their lies.

Thus the splittists now have no other choice but to openly attack Mao Tsetung Thought and Chairman Mao himself.

Towards an authentic Marxist-Leninist party

Since its creation, the League has always defended Mao Tsetung Thought, an integral and inseparable part of Marxism-Leninism. Today it is the only organization in Canada to do so. Inevitably, those who falsely claimed to follow Mao Tsetung, like the “CPCML” and In Struggle, have ended up exposing themselves.

All those who sincerely base themselves on Mao Tsetung Thought, support socialist China, and oppose revisionism must unite to form the single party of the working class. They must unite around the League, because the League is the only organization that bases itself on the revolutionary science of the proletariat, Marxism-Leninism and Mao Tse-tung Thought, the only organization capable of building the authentic communist party.

We are devoting all our energy to accomplishing this glorious task. And we must do everything in our power to make the League’s next congress the Founding Congress of the Party.
