The Republicans and Democrats must be stopped from driving this country into the ground. Nearly ten million workers are out of jobs and the government itself says it’s going to get worse. In the dying auto and steel industry, workers thrown into the streets have seen the last decent job they’ll ever have. The price of food, housing and gas continue to skyrocket, tearing apart our standards of living. Every family is forced to cut back on movies, vacations and even food day by day. Crime – already rampant – gets worse as joblessness and desperation grip our youth. Alcoholism and drug addiction spread their deadly poison to every household and every family. Pornography fills our newsstands. Chemical pollutants and nuclear radiation fill our air and ground, threatening future generations. One in three families are ripped apart. And what does the future hold for our children? Those not jailed or shot by killer cops face the draft to fight World War III – to make the rich richer.
The capitalists and their politicians are killing us.
As whole cities like Detroit and Youngstown die, the Republicans and Democrats squabble over Billy Carter. While whole industries shut down, throwing millions of workers on the streets, they damn families to losing their home, their car, their future. As joblessness soars, they cut unemployment, food stamps and welfare, leaving us to starve. The Republicans and Democrats – the parties of corruption, murder and crisis – fiddle as America burns.
And in the deepest economic crisis ever both Republicans and Democrats blow a lot of hot air. When we need truth, they lie. When we need action, they talk. When we need extreme measures, they stall and half-step.
Because they have no answers for the American people. As the tricks they used to prop up the economy are used up, their true face is coming to the surface.
Because they created the crisis. Protecting the interests of the Rockefellers, Morgans, Duponts and Mellons, they profit from our misery.
The only way for them out of the crisis is World War III. Before they can go to war with the Soviet Union, they must succeed in attacking the American people first. They need a U.S. Hitler.
These are extreme times. And extreme times require extreme measures to save the country. We must stop the Republicans and Democrats from driving our families to the slaughter. We must stop them now. In our strongest and loudest voice, we must scream “NO MORE BUSINESS AS USUAL.” Now, more than ever before, the election is an opportunity for the capitalists to pick our hangman for the next four years. We must stop this election.
In Greensboro, North Carolina last November 3, five leaders of the Communist Workers Party – Jim Waller, Cesar Cauce, Mike Nathan, Bill Sampson and Sandy Smith – were gunned down in cold blood by KKK and Nazi assassins instigated by the U.S. government. Among the KKK and Nazi murderers was Bernard Butkovich, an agent of the Treasury Department’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, who armed the murderers and pointed out the five CWP members to be assassinated.
Greensboro is not isolated. FBI agents ran off the road and killed Karen Silkwood, a union leader of the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers who threatened to blow the whistle on unsafe nukes in Oklahoma. Kennedy is sponsoring the Son of S-1, which would make strike pickets and any demonstration illegal. A day after the Supreme Court declared that the FBI could not break into private homes without warrants, the New York FBI busted down doors throughout an apartment house “in pursuit of a suspect.” To force our youth to register, the Justice Department threatens to jail and fine them for resisting the privilege of “serving the country.” Killer cops roam the streets of our cities waiting for an excuse to kill as in Miami.
Will your family be next?
These are extreme times. And extreme times require extreme measures to save the country. We must stop the Republicans and Democrats from driving our families to the slaughter. We must stop them now. With the Democratic Convention coming up in New York August 11-14, we will let them know that the American people will determine our own destiny by any means necessary. Like the fingers on a hand, one by one the capitalists can chop them off. But drawn together they make a powerful fist.
Like Levittown, Miami, and Chattanooga – speaking for the whole American people – we will let Reagans, Carters, Kennedys and Andersons know that the American people, once we grasp our destiny into our own hands, are unstoppable. And like a mighty hurricane we will sweep them away and end this living hell once and for all.
