Dole queue

It’s lonely and degrading standing in the dole queue (above) and once outside you’re on your own (centre left) to search for work. Workers at Fisher Bendix (centre right) fought against the sack in 1972 by staging a sit-in, one alternative in the fight against redundancy. Strachans workers in opposition to the bosses and union leaders occupy their factory (bottom) and show that the answer to isolation on the dole is solidarity on the shop floor.
