The Sormovo Works is making a caterpillar crane for Gidrotorf, but this is being done much too slowly. In view of the need to test the crane in the coming summer season, I request that every effort be made to have the crane all ready in April to make its delivery possible to Electroperedacha Station in early May for all-round trials, so that, once all the necessary improvements are ascertained, the mass production of cranes could be started on this model.[1]
[1] Lenin received detailed fortnightly reports on the work on a caterpillar peat crane at the Sormovo Works. On June 24, 1921, he was informed that the assembly was in its final stages and that the crane would be tested in the latter half of July.
