“Volition” means the Will or intention (See The Good). The standpoint which one-sidedly exaggerates Volition is called Voluntarism.



Voluntarism is the trend of philosophy which one-sidedly emphasises the role of Will in truth. See Volition above. Hegel says, on the contrary to voluntarism: "it is only the will itself that stands in the way of attainment of its goal, for it separates itself from cognition".
